no, sorry Feero. these are the only pictures i have. good luck :-)
and the villa.
unbelievable that i used to play there as a boy in 1957. my little friend was Pierre..
i knew a Tanios in 1957 who was a shopkeeper in achrafieh siouffy!
to nash4u. so if i understand you correctly: Nabaa es Safa is where the Beiteddine-canal starts?. I can t find any documents on the internet about that canal. do you have more info?
The green datsun in this photo belonged to my mom and dad. Our house is across the street from the car -- on the left hand side and out of the picture. We lived in house #8 -- Kees and Alma Plesman. The house in the center of the photo is actually house #10 which is where the Jenkins lived. To the right of our car (not in the picture) were all of the garages, behind the 3 houses in the center of that circle. We moved there in 1965ish when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I lived there until I graduated from high school in June 1971, however, Mom and Dad were there for 2 more years and left in 1973 which is when dad retired from KLM after 43 years.
It's the Valley Hotel and there is a bar in it CHEERS:)
Nice to see that there are some villas left in the street. We lived there around 1966 at number 40. In the small street to rhe right there lived a friend calles Salah. ( riding a jawa50cc).
I have such nice memories of this street!
Hi, Arama nice of you to comment. Actually I did not live there, however I visited dad (who did live there) a few times for a couple of weeks.I was 17 years old then and had long hair. I recall an american little boy who called me 'girly boy' hahaha!
