WOW!! Stunning shot!!

It is a never ending task painting this illustious old bridge. The bridge is of cantilever design and constructed in late Victorian times using steel as the main structure. The painting has been necessary over the intevening years to prevent corrosion of the structure due to the damp and salty conditions that prevail in the River Forth Estuary. The bridge links nearby Edinburgh with the "Kingdom Of Fife" - providing a very busy commuter rail link between them.

Built in 1964 - the road bridge is less famous than her older sister the illustrious rail bridge - This bridge is a fine example of suspension bridge design used throughout the world including the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransico.
