Living in the northern rivers region of NSW, Australia. Have noticed that apart from the popular tourist resorts, there is a shortage of google images showing the rest of this beautiful region, so I hope to slowly document the region with photos.
Used this road as a shortcut between Somerset and the Brisbane Valley Hwy (just east of Glen Esk) when driving between Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba in the early 1980's. Saved travelling through the big metropolis of Esk!
I enjoyed it - liked the scenery along the various easy walks. Though I'm not sure I'd make a special trip just to get there - we were on the way back from further west and decided on an overnight visit. Did find a few too many people at the camp site but still pretty quiet.
Great camped under "The Pommy trees" as we called them on those stinking hot 90-100 degree days.
Much cooler than under the filtered shade of the gum trees.

this site is 500 meters up river from 1st photo aboriginal correctional center on other side of river be extreemly carefull not a good overnite stay
Didn't it have some great views! We found it on the last day of our journey and were thrilled to have the place to ourselves :-)
