Busy Leonardo Da Vinci Airport. As we await our driver, we observe a Masaratti being chased by police; a breakdown, and numerous near misses as everyone in the world tries to exit the airport.

Travestere area, walkabout 1st night in Rome.

Hotel Artorius Rome, Via del Boschetto 13, Rome Tel 0039 06 4821196. First class residential type accommodation, with balcony - but no view. Excellent self service breakfasts, great help with information on getting about and transport links. Rooms have 500 channel satelite tv link also. We stayed 2 nights. On exiting the hotel to your right you will find the Colusseum-approx 1 mile downhill. Fantastic nearby food, bar establishments, great transport links main road to left on Via Nazionale.

9am 13/10 - Breakfast with local cafe 9am Continental style when staying at B&B; www.arcodellauro.it (+39 346 2443212) Was cheaper than most hotels - for medium size room with en-suite bathroom we were charged €95 for one night - might appeal to those on a budget, check out the reviews; google Karen Taylor or Trip Advisor.Well worth it as Trasevere area is one of Rome's most charming areas: with medieval lanes, restaurants and churches to explore.

The Temple of Vesta (Latin: Aedes Vestae) is ancient edifice in Rome, Italy, located in the Roman Forum between the Temple of Castor and Pollux, the Temple of Caesar, the Regia and the House of the Vestal Virgins. The temple has a number of significant architectural features. It was modeled after the first Roman houses which were round huts made of mud and straw. (Source Wikipedia)
