This Cycle path follows the old railway line that terminated at Gatwen transport yard upto the late 70's, bringing coal for road distribution. It joined the rail network just after the new Maelor Hospital car park (which follows the railway cut) and the remnants can just be seen on Google Earth. It may also have linked to the old railway neywork that served Brymbo and the Moss valley.

My sister ,myself and three others from Airdrie near Glasgow worked in "Gibsons Private Hotel" in North Marine Road in 1970 1971 1972. The Hotel was owned at that time by Mr & Mrs Brown he was a tall thin man and had stacks of character and charm .. I myself was only 17 years old then and the "BOSS" treaded us all like is own..
