Es un cantón pequeño en ruta desde San Juan Nonualco hacia el cantón más al norte LA LAGUNETA. Abundante cultivo del café. Los pobladores se conocen entre si, muy bien, debido a lo pequeño del lugar. Su clima es fresco, debido a la altura del lugar y las calles todavía mantienen en un buen porcentaje lo típico, es decir, empedradas.
