HISTORY
Engineering General Consultants EGC was established as a Firm in 1987 to provide consultancy services in several development fields in both public and private sectors. Engineering General Consultants EGC (Pvt) Ltd. was incorporated as a successor company to Engineering General Consultants in 1994. EGC is now a fully owned subsidiary company of SMEC International, Australia since August 2007.
Engineering General Consultants EGC (Pvt) Ltd. is one of the most active consultancy companies providing services for planning, design, construction supervision and studies of multidimensional and multi sectoral projects relating to transportation engineering including motorways, highways, urban and rural roads, water resources development including dams, hydropower, irrigation and drainage, bridges, hydraulic structures, environment, agricultural development, forestry, resource conservation, public health engineering, urban and rural development etc.
It is a multidisciplinary company and supported by a team of highly qualified and well experienced experts as well as strong infrastructure backup facilities to provide services for multisectoral projects.

EGC has worked independently or in association with other renowned international and National Consultants on prestigious projects in Water resources and Hydropower sector such as design of 1150 MW Kohala Hydropower Project, feasibility study and preparation of feasibility reports of Shogo-Sin & Shushgai-Zhendoli Hydropower projects, feasibility study of 720 MW Karot Hydropower Project, feasibility study of 4200 MW Basha Dam and Contract Management of Mirani Dam, design and construction supervision of three high head hydropower projects viz:

Prefeasibility study of 17 MW Gomal Zam Hydropower Project, prefeasibility study of 30 MW Kurram Tangi Dam and Hydropower Project etc.
Design review and residential construction supervision of Dhok Tahlian Dam near Chakwal, Evaluation of Canal Lining, subsurface and Interceptor drains, NDP Sectoral Structure Phase-I, as sub-consultant to ACE-Halcrow (Joint venture).
