That photo's position should be a lot closer to the beach - not 1km up a mountain !!

...note the volcanic deposits on the beach.

...this is a banyan tree, also known here as the 'devil's tree', can grow to great heights and tend to throw down roots from their branches, hence their weird association with ghostly images !!

.....very good picture, mangrove trees are natural defence against the destructive tidal waves. we should grow more to protect our coasts. Just look at the hardy roots hanging on for dear life !!
