Very Wonderful Church Picture!!!!

A VERY HIGHLY FAVORITE AND LIKE PICTURE!!!!

Corey Coyle

The strange thing is, there doesn't seem to be a natural river joining both lakes at all! Not according to the 1829-41 6" map anyway. Maybe there's an underground one? In the 1897-1913 25" map, there is your canal, and also a branch that swings around the village to the left, which is still in use. Maybe they hit too hard a rock (note the quarry in the aerial photos) or even ground soakage from an underground river? Looks like they abandoned this canal for the looped one - for some reason! Something to investigate!

Regards,

Alan

I sent you links to a print-quality version of the photograph, but maybe Panoramio stripped out the links.

I have sent that message again, but this time directly to your AOL address.

Mint sauce MMMMMM!

Great photo Chris. There's a big oak tree near me that has the branches coming down to the ground like that. I've been meaning to upload it and I must now, when I can find it...
