This NOT a photo, it does not belong on Panoramio, and it is not located properly to boot.
I think it is amazing also. Looks like endless exploration.
Thanks in part to this photo, I did a recent trip here myself. See http://www.panoramio.com/photo/97019397. Thanks for posting!
Love pictures of the high country, thx for sharing!
My comment on the Mt Sill register was something like: the sky has this strange hue of intense blue ... where are those things called "clouds"? As for decent rock, stick to the 5th class routes, the 3rd class has quite a bit of loose talus...
And taken from such a beautifully maintained hiking trail ... beats any in the Rockies!
And to think I was shamed into climbing Mt Gould after remarking, down at Kearsarge Pass, that it was such an easy hike ... well worth the talus hopping to the summit! Yes, and actual clouds over the High Sierra ... quite the surprise. And unlike the pass trail, no one else around!
Excellent close up Randy. I got a similarly close shot in the Indian Peaks Wilderness of a ptarmigan. My father and I were heading back down instead of summitting because some real dark clouds were headed our way when the ptarmigan walked right in front of me. I could have stepped on it if I didn't see it at the last second, and it didn't even seem worried. It just kept on waddling through the tundra, as if we weren't even there.
No, I've hike along the base scouting, but that was on a cold, wintry day, and did not try to scramble it... haven't ever gone back.
Nice title, lol
