What used to be state owned land is now being sold to private developers. This is happening throughout the Lewis River valley. This large tract of land used to be a calving area for a herd of elk every spring. Now with the development of this ridge and the surrounding area the elk have been forced elsewhere. But where? Too many cabins,too many people,too little safe habitat for our dwindling wildlife.
