Gabrielino/Sturtevant Falls Trail north separates here at this 2 mile junction from Chantry Flats. This picture is looking west/left of the Sturtevant Falls Trail. Stay on the main trail north 0.8 mile is Sturtevant Falls. The lower Sturtevant Loop Trail goes to the top of the falls then continues to meet the upper Gabrielino Trail about 1 mile passed the falls. Gabrielino winds up a little more and no shades, but wider. 2 miles to meet the lower Loop Trail. Loop Trail is narrower, 1 feet in some places, with small rock slides, and soft shoulder in few places as Oct 08.
This is a 140 degree shot panorama. On the right side, you can see the landslide that has caused the closure of the Mt Wilson Toll Rd. According to a local fire fighter, the road is said to be fixed/open before the end of 2008. A local resident living near the place where this photo was shot, says contractors have been here and would soon begin working on it.
