Typical exposed track around most of Endeavour Inlet.
Good protection from harsh winter storms and summer heat exists on most of this first section of the QCT. However sun cream is needed for summer around Endeavour Inlet as the track there is quite exposed.
Typical stream between spurs on the peninsular along the Queen Charlotte Track. This flow is typical of early summer, in late summer many will be dry but in winter many are torrents (fortunately the vast majority are bridged).
The information board at the start of the Queen Charlotte Track in Ship Cove. We found that the times given by DOC seemed to assume that walkers would get main packs transferred by water taxi and that only small day packs would be carried, if you are carrying a full pack with tent, etc allow 10-15% longer.
