I agree that it's misplaced. This would be further east along I-70. You can see the triangular shape of Mt. Garfield on the map. I lived in Palisade for a few years. Love the photo! I wasn't taking a lot of photos at the time.
This house was built by my grandmother's parents, and my grandmother, Bernice Jameson Todd, was born in the house on June 22, 1891. It has been enlarged and remodelled. My dad lived there in the 1980s, and other family members lived there between those years. I think the original house was built in 1888.
This is the old ferry dock where the boat left for Washington on the other side of the Columbia River. Now you can only see pilings.
