This is also great. So vast and inhospitable.
Nah. On the way up i was too excited to see what was further down the road, and on the way back it was pouring rain.
Yeah, it's a very cool area! This was on the south side of the pass looking south. Probably not much more than a mile from the pass itself. Looking down the valley below the road here is the last time you get to see trees if you're heading north.
Thanks! In my opinion, Alaska, Utah, Montana, and California are the most beautiful states in my country. I still haven't been to Hawaii though...
Fabuloso lugar.-Sueño con poder estar pronto recorriendo esa ruta con mi moto.-
Very nice! Great light, nice Photoshop balance, proper composition. I can tell you understand the way to guide the viewers' eyes into the photo from lower left, and then have the eye travel to a point of interest in the upper right - but not exit, and instead loop back down to stay in the shot.
Makes me homesick - I have not been to Rabbit lake since 1973 when I climbed S Suicide in Feb. . I really miss Alaska; went to East High.
You could drop houses into these holes.
One day I missed the border closure by 20 minutes, because I didn't know at the time that the last 40 miles of the road on the USA side were washboard dirt. So I had to spend the night here. This view is looking into Canada.
