pedrocut's conversations
Hi Roger
Having seen this hostelry several times, but not participated in its beverage, I never remember it being painted claret and blue. Perhaps in the old days it was too near a cop shop to park a car.
However, I do remember having a pint in a pub near St. Andrews that was Atkinsons, so that shows you how long ago it was. Come to think of it it was not painted blue and white!
Now I have to get the map out to find the street.

Olá Peter, sabia que no Algarve, quem possuir uma propriedade como esta, tem a garantia de poder construir nova moradia no mesmo local? Abraço, Eduardo.

Hello Peter---thanks for that interesting link!!
Its great having a reference to the past through your precious photos!!
Around 10 years ago, the village was being eroded by weak sea defences!! Several million pounds of funding was obtained from the EU to beef them up!!
Rock armour, massive concrete walls and grading of the cliff slopes with comprehensive draining installed, has stabilised the problem, but for how long?? In the end, nature will win! Thanks for dropping in Peter

I love walking Jethro..but alas! due to a terrible injury I suffered way back in the fifties when I crashed my M/C, and the poor standards of surgery at the time, I was left permanently disabled.
Not so many years ago, following surgery at the hands of a very clever orthopaedic doctor, (he fixed blown off limbs in Africa for many years, and spoke only limited English) The damage was largely corrected, but since I no longer have an ankle joint, walking is no joke!! I keep fit despite my years!!
Cheers ;.)
Jim
