After 2081 miles of walking with a late friend, Panoramio seems a great way to share photos that would otherwise stay locked away. I hope some will find enjoyment from them! I have started a Group called British Walks and slowly uploading so the pictures can be seen in sequence. If anyone has a sequence of photos from their walks in the British Countryside, and would like to share, please visit the Group

Happy New year from Holland,

Hi Peter, my daughter and I had a wonderful time at Stokesay Castle. What a beautiful place. We spent so much time there that we were late getting to Ludlow! Sounds like you were in better company here :)

All the best, Rosa.

Thank you Zhsv!

Greetings from Budapest Z.

Hi Rosa

It is a scan from the negative. The photos in the album had faded!

Best wishes Peter

Hi Peter, I will take a look.

Merry Christmas to you. Rosa.

That worked!!

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the comment, It encourages me to upload these old scans from the negative. I have quite a few more from the Lakes, and then I will put more of the Peak District!

Have a great Xmas and New Year, Peter

Hi David,

Hope you have a great Xmas and New Year! I have now marked the date of June 1994, and strange you should mention memories. Some walks I can remember vividly and others, like this one, I had difficulty. Not my car, we had parked in Glenridding, some scans are remarkable taken from the negative, I got the prints out and they had faded!

From the back of my mind I remember how warm and humid it was at the start of the walk, and the bit of snow left near the summit. We had our dinner at the top overlooking Striding edge, but as we approached Dollywaggon it was time for the coats. How the temperature can change up there!

Thanks for the encouragement, I still have a few more to load!

All the best Peter
