After 2081 miles of walking with a late friend, Panoramio seems a great way to share photos that would otherwise stay locked away. I hope some will find enjoyment from them! I have started a Group called British Walks http://www.panoramio.com/group/18301 and slowly uploading so the pictures can be seen in sequence. If anyone has a sequence of photos from their walks in the British Countryside, and would like to share, please visit the Group

Rabin fascinating stuff.

The place is up for sale right now..... but it may be beyond repair.

Many thanks for coming by - David

Sadly no Peter

I'll suggest it however........

David

Thanks for the links to the photos; there are some excellent examples of how Alrewas really does sit on a flood plain. The village is faced with a planning application to build 150 houses on the flood plain and we are looking for photos that will show that floodong is not, as the EA classify the area- as uncommon as once in a 1,000 or even once in a 100 years; I've been here 12 years and have seen it flood 4 times.

I'm new to Panoramio and will follow your suggestion to create a Group to which I will send you an invite to join. Cheers

Will

This an interesting shot. Taken in 2005, the wooden surface deterioated rapidly afterwards and last year we raised money from villagers and replaced 200 x 4.5 metre beams. We have also cleared the path ahead and hedge-layed the western side; we enjoyed that so much that we will probably lay the other side next season (October to March). I'll be posting pictures of the restored bridges over the next few weeks.

Greetings Peter,

Glad to receive your comments. I visited Alum Bay in 1978.. long enough to forget I guess, but I remember it well.

I'm now retired Peter, and I've got plenty of interests that keep me away from Panoramio a bit.

Thanks for staying in touch.

Ian
