After 2081 miles of walking with a late friend, Panoramio seems a great way to share photos that would otherwise stay locked away. I hope some will find enjoyment from them! I have started a Group called British Walks and slowly uploading so the pictures can be seen in sequence. If anyone has a sequence of photos from their walks in the British Countryside, and would like to share, please visit the Group

Hi Rosa

Thanks for your recent visit. I noticed this picture among your Lyme Regis tag, and we stayed in one of the cottages just around the bend. The river was well up and the prospect of flooding crossed my mind.

I checked out the history and came across the Lyme Regis Tourism site, and learned that one of the worst floods was in 1890 when many had to be rescued by boat from Coombe Street.

Now, not a lot of people seem to know this, but if you check in the Newspaper Archives the local papers, such as the Western Gazette, name the river as the Buttle. I cannot find any other reference to this name!

Lovely shot Peter. Great sky and good aspect. Like.

Best wishes, Rosa.

Brave swimmers! Like. Regards, Rosa.

Even on a rainy day it looks great Peter. Like.

Regards, Rosa.

Greetings, Tim Geeson!
Excellent photo!

Hi Peter, this used to be the driveway to the large Manor House where the High Sherrif of Dorset lived. Still owned by that house and occupant but has a right of way for walkers and riders but no cars...which is nice!

All the best, Rosa.

Thank you Rosa*

Quite a surprise were the views from The Cloud in September of 1999. Although only 343m a magnificent place to have your lunch!

Best wishes Peter

Chel Sabine

Thank you very much Chel. Best Sunday greetings to you, Rosa.

Beautiful sunset, greetings from Polish -Eugen
