I was stationed on the Westwind in 75-77 we did one arctic east trip to Greenland, Iceland and England I have some pictures posted from that trip.

I forgot to say to George that this is a very nice picture. Is that little island in the background Peaked Island?

Yes or close to it.

Very nice love the colors and mist with the profiles in the forground. alot going on.

togeyer, make sure you understand what Views means. They plan on including smartphone photos (so real photographs like this will have to compete with a snapshot of a slice of Uncle Bills' pizza), and require upload to a Google+ account if you don't use a smartphone. Also done away with is accurate mapping; Views wants to map to the "Snap To" location of a photo, not the GPS coordinates. There is a lot more information in the extensive discussions in the forum. Making it worse, the likely abandonment of Google+ from total non-use threatens to bring Views down with it.

This is a nice shot but it is not placed in the correct location. It looks to me like this is taken in the livingston channel in the Detroit River but it is placed in the Niagra River in an area where there is no shipping at all.

This is the Hollyhock not the Mackinaw.

I was in Thule in 1976 on the USCGC Westwind.

great sunset capture. like the purple sun colors!
