For most people, this would be a very normal Photo. But it is very special to me! As a child,I used to bike ride there or just wandering along. Now I am living around 20 thousand kilometers away from there, in Australia. No matter what season,it is always great to be there! I miss this special place,"Heimat" Thank you for sharing this Photo!
If you are passing through the friendly town of Laurieton, don't miss to take the drive to the top of North Brother Lookout! (about 6 km) The views are breathtaking in every direction. On good days, watch hang gliders taking off.
At Glasshouse Mountain Exit from Motorway (Bruce Highway) go to eastern side of Highway, there is a Rest area. Then walk 700 m up to the peak on concrete/bitumen path.
This is used for a Telstra transmitter station and Fire watch tower. Excellent 360* views of the nearby Glasshouse Mountains and the coast line
From Rockhampton, drive 22 km north on Bruce Highway, take right turn to Barmoya Rd,drive through township The Caves, then take right turn to Olsens Caves road. Guided Cave tours only and a fee is charged. Well worth it ! Take a Camera and flash with you.

This is an excellent viewing platform, in westerly distance are the Glasshouse Mountains and east is the coastline, as far as the eye can see.
