When there is a fire on a cut area, you have always to use artificial regeneration because there is no trees left to disperse seeds...! Also, the SOPFEU has stopped this fire before it has burned completly the organic soil (this is essential for the seeds because they can not develop in organic soil...). By the way, for me, harvesting a part of a burned area can be part of an ecosystemic management strategy.
