hi mate, yes, you are so correct....... that photo was taken from a rock ledge (the one that you know of), NOT Warrah Trig which (i now know) is further north at the end of the firetrail off Patonga Drive. I didn't know what "Trig" meant.....thanks for explaining that. No i don't hang-glid.....scared of heights lol. Those hang-gliding photos were taken as the glifers swooped over me, whilst i was rock-hopping north of Redhead. thanks for your comment. cheers....

2nd Point (headland) is one of the 3 Points (prominant headlands) which drew Captain James Cook's attention on his voyage of discovery of Australia in the 18th Century.

the first headland that he noticed as he cruised past was the northern headland of Copacabana Beach and it was named as 1st Point >>>>> there is a lookout on that headland today called "Captain Cook Lookout". The 2nd headland that he noticed was the headland from where i took this photo and it was named 2nd Point. The 3rd headland that drew his attention was the large southern headland of Little Beach known as Bombi Moore.

the Olgas are one of the "3 Tors" - 3 large monoliths in a line from east to west, uplifted from the flat terrain. the first is Mt. Connor in the east, in the middle is Ayers Rock (Uluru), and the furthest to the west is The Olgas (Kata Tjuta).

hi Aussie Girl: i saw your Mazda in your other photos......and you still have it ? amazing !

i've just uploaded a pic of my Datsun at "sunrise at Ayers Rock" in 1985. stiff suspension mags (no good for outback tho), Clarion cartridge player, 1970's beige duco and the mandatory "i've been everywhere man stickers" on the rear window lol. this photo i uploaded is a photo i just took of the hard copy photo from an album (don't have a scanner). 2 original photos joined together. THE Rock is as red as that, as you would probably know...

cheers

hi Ray. careful of snakes out there.......i took my brother-in-law (he lives in Sydney) along the Bullimah Spur track in January and he was gobsmacked with the views. approaching the end of the track, he stepped over a brown snake he didn't see. i was behind him and i almost stepped ON IT ! it slithered off the track into the bush. Googled it that night and i'm sure it was an Aussie Brown snake. YIKES !! Regards, love your photos.
