just up the hill from that tree on the right (with exposed roots) is the old entrance to icebox cave. as you go up the hill (be careful you can be cited for leaving the trail) veer to the right and you will see the fissure and two manmade brick/stone walls were someone tried to close it off. we used to climb over those walls and go inside when we were kids. the gorge was our playground and we knew every inch of the park and river. great times!
