The two yantras below the Idukku Pilliayar Sannidhi

We entered this sannidhi through a small gap facing the Arunachala mountain. It is said that Sri Idaikattu Siddhar had installed two yantrams below the shrine and anyone who enters through this gap gets the benefit of darisinam of Arunachala while going in and the other is the vibrations from the yantra penetrate the body and remove problems of the body and mind. We were blessed to be able to do this.

Visit to Shenbakkam Swayambu Selva Vinayahar Temple

Location: In the Chennai-Bangalore highway, if you comes from Chennai, you have to proceed after Vellore junction for another 2 Km to reach Shenbakkam. Here you have to go under the bridge to the right side for about half a km to reach the temple.

Legend: The place was once called Swayambakkam since Vinayagar appeared hear as Swayambu and later became as Shenbakkam. It is also said that the original name of the village was Shenbagavanam as it was full of fragrant Shenbaga trees even though no trace of the trees is to he seen now. Aadhi Sankarar once visited Virinchipuram Margabandeswarar Swayambu linga temple near this place and from there he came to know about this temple by his spiritual power and visited this temple. He is said to have installed a Sri Charka at the Esanya corner near the Navagrahas. When I inquired about it, I was told that it is installed under one pillar but there is nothing there to indicate such a sacred spot to the devotees. Once all the Swayambu Vinayagars were buried under the ground. A Maharashtra minister by name Thukoji was passing through this place when the axle of his chariot broke here. He saw the blood oozing out from the place. He was forced to stay here and worried about the obstacle to his trip. He prayed to Vigneshwar and slept. Vigneshwar came in his dream and informed that He is present here under the ground and it is high time for Him to show up and asked Thukoji to bring Him out and construct a temple.

Temple:

The temple is dedicated to Sri Selva Vinayagar and Somasundareswarar Selva Vinayagar is present surrounded by 10 other Swayambu Vinayagars in the form of lingams and in the formation of ‘Om’. The 11 Vinayagars are present in the following order: Bala Vinayagar, Nadana Vinayagar, Omkara Vinayagar, Karpaga Vinayagar, Chinthamani Vinayagar, Selva Vinayagar (moolavar), Mayura Vinayagar, Mooshiga Vinayagar, Vallaba Vinayagar, Siddhi-Buddhi Vinayagar and Panchamuga Vinayagar. Bala Vinayagar is still under the ground and only the top portion is visible. Sri Somasundareswar in the form of lingam is present in a separate shrine just behind the Selva Vinayagar. Selva Vinayagar is bearing the mark of the chariot wheel on His back. The flag mast is present within the sanctum sanctorum itself There is no roof for the sanctum sanctorum Saneeswara Bhagwan is present facing the Selva Vinayagar which is a special significance. A Silver covering was made about 75 years back for Selva Vinayagar covering Him fully but now, it covers Him only two-thirds indicating that He is growing over time

Note: In Shenbakkam, there seems to be another sacred spot called Swami Ragavendra's Nava Brindhavana, the Samadhis of nine Madhwacharyars. Shenbakkam is a part of Vellore Corporation and nearby tourism places are Golden Temple, Vellore Fort, Jalagandeswarar Temple inside the fort, Museum inside the fort, Amirthi Zoo and Forest, Ponnai Navagraha Temple, Vallimalai Murugan Temple, Nava Sai Temple 15kms in Vellore - Bangalore NHAI - 45, Rathinagiri 15 kms in Vellore - Chennai NHAI - 45, Padavedu Mariamman Temple & Erikuppam Saneswara Bahawan Enthiram Temple around 5o Kms falls on Vellore Tiruvannamalai route(Sandavasal Stopping), Virinchipuram Siva Temple situated in Virinchipuram near Seduvalai falls on NHAI 15 Kms from Vellore to Bangalore Road.

Importance of worshipping Mother Indraprasadavalli.

You can have Mother Indra Prasada Valli's darshan at Maruthadu which is located 7 Kms from Vandavasi falls on Vandavasi - Melmaruvathur Road.

The Sathguru has given us the Siddha injunction that each and every woman should have the darshan of Mother Indra Prasadavalli during the Navaratri festival at least once in their lives. It is particularly important to worship Mother Indra Prasada Valli on Fridays.

This Mother of Maruthadu answered the impassioned plea of Lord Indra and blessed him and us with 1008 different prasada gifts - flowers, mangalya, holy water, kumkumam, vibhuti, turmeric and so on.

The Lord here is Sripuranthareswarar. The Mother prayed to Him when She wanted to establish a version of Sripuram on Earth. This temple can bless one with the gifts of wealth and prosperity.

Navaratri Friday worship - on every weekday of this Navaratri festival. Mahaguru Agasthiar, along with his consort, devotees and disciples, worshipped the Mother here during all nine days and nights of a Navaratri in another age. Indra and the Devas worshipped Mother Indra Prasada Valli and continue to worship Her. Once after worshipping Lord Arunachala, Sri Agasthiar and all the Siddhas arrived at Mother Indra Prasadavalli's sanctum within one nazhigai and worshipped Her. Thus this temple is a favourite of the Siddhas and the Devas. Humans should take note.
