This is the grave of Freda, a Dalmatian dog who was the mascot of the New Zealand Rifles regiment. She died in 1918 whilst the regiment was training for war on Cannock Chase, and so is buried here. A number of the Regiment died in the Flu Pandemic of 1918, and are buried in the nearby Commonwealth Cemetery.

The clock is a memorial to Pat Collins, of fairground fame. There is a dedication plaque at the base of the clock.
