This model of the barque TIJUCA gave name to the TIJUCA JETTY in Grytviken. The model is made by a AB sailor and carpenter Nicolej Rasmussen there have been working on board the Tijuca between 1930 and until late around 1938 ...? The model is made in Denmark around 1950..?

The Tijuca, a three-masted barque, was used as a transport vessel by the Compania Argentina de Pesca between Buenos Aires and the whaling stations at South Georgia. Photos and more information can be found on this link http://www.histarmar.com.ar/BuquesMercantes/ListadoT/Tijuca.htm
