The majority of pictures in my gallery here are pieces of Torontiana, showing typical street scenes, urban wildlife (human and other), landmarks and local institutions and their details. The other 10% or so are shots from my occasional trips outside this Canadian city.

The one time I saw a green flash, the air was clear, the horizon was very crisp, and the flash was very brief. I was curious about what it takes to pull of a shot like this -- impressive enough if the green lasts for a second or two, but to capture the one I saw would be almost like capturing lightning with a 1/500 sec exposure. I'm amused that I didn't even consider high-fps shooting! Well, this is a beautiful image with spectacular light, and the green makes it special, and getting it aligned behind the boat seems quite a feat.

Mark Fadely (well, a very good photographer I haven't heard of). Yes, the 5D II is a good camera, but I'm sure he'd have done as well with many others :) What can I say, we've got to try and try again. Cheers.

Thanks theverbiage, the light was so bad I had to go up to ISO800, hence some noise. But it really was a fierce storm. Daan

or struck by asteroid...

И Вас также! Чтобы там Задорнов ни говорил,а Старый Новый Год-тоже праздник :)

Still a beautiful scene - and the rock in the FG is a nice touch. Thank you for posting!
