Historic Reagan Meadow part of the old Reagan Ranch in Malibu Creek State Park. This site threatened by RV Park development. details at www.savethemeadow.com

This picture is in the public domain (available from the Reagan Library) The picture is of Ronald and Nancy Reagan in the 1950's. They owned this ranch (named Yearling Row) from 1951 to 1966. Reagan established his cowboy image using this ranch in the 1966 race for Governor of California. The ranch was encorporated into Malibu Creek State park but is now threatened by the development of an RV Parking lot and Equestrian Campground (officially called the Reagan Equestrian Campground by the state park service). A dedicated group of activists is working to preserve this historic site (and to preserve the scenic viewshed of Mulholland Highway). Visit www.savethemeadow.com for details

Reagan owned this ranch named "Yearling Row" from 1951 - 1966. He sold this ranch to 20th Century Fox to finance his run for public office but sought to preserve the land for future generations to enjoy. The land was eventualy preserved as parkland by chairman of the California state parks and recreation board, a Governor Reagan appointee in 1974. http://www.savethemeado.blogspot.com/ http://www.savethemeadow.com/
