Thanks for your comment, Dave. The signs are puzzling. I also haven't been there for 14 years, so the signs may have changed. I only know that, when I lived in Jasper, I took time to do a hike between Kataka Mountain (the mountain to the east of Mt. Fitzwilliam which is on the provincial boundary) and Mt. Fitzwilliam just to the west, up Fitzwilliam Creek. That hike was definitely on the BC side, according to all the maps my fellow hiker and I had. Going from the Alberta side into BC, to the east there's a signed rest stop right at the border. Then again, these signs are usually placed there, not as definitive proof, but for the purpose of greeting and promotion. I've also seen lots of examples of that happening here in Ontario, too. Google Earth will be your best guide in this case. Enjoying the mystery, Indy
