One should make the comment that that winter we had a record fall of snow and, most likely, the fence in the back yard is about 4 feet high... making the snow probably close to 5-6. In our front lawn, because we shoveled the drive way we had about 7-12 feet of snow that year. Completely cover one of our trees and reaching the bottom branches of our large maple tree which was approx. 65 feet high.
