Rosencruz Sumera
I won an Art Scholarship in Painting and Fine Arts in 1971 in a nationwide "Draw-me Art Contest" sponsored by Art Instruction Schools, Minneapolis, Minnesota. I studied Art in junior high and high school and a minor in College. I have won numerous awards in local and International Art Competitions.
I'm free-lance artist painting portraits since 1971. I’m dedicated to fostering and enhancing an understanding of practice, techniques, aesthetics and applications of traditional fine art portraiture and figurative arts. My other endeavor is painting still life’s, landscapes, seascapes, nudes, animals & pet portraits. My main medium is Oil, but I can also work in Acrylic, pen & ink, pastel, charcoal & colored pencil. I also enjoyed linoleum block carving.
I lived in San Francisco for 41 years. My future artistic goal is to show the beauty of San Francisco thru my paintings. I will put on canvas scenery that is San
Francisco, it' rolling hills and cable cars, the Golden Gate Bridge and Fort Point, the Cliff House and its Seal Rocks, the Marina and the Palace of Fine Arts, Fisherman's Wharf and its Pier 39, Fort Mason, Golden Gate Park and its Japanese Tea Garden, the Crookedest Street in San Francisco, Coit Tower, Market Street, the Presidio, the Victorian Buildings, Alcatraz island, Angel Island, the Bay Bridge, the Embarcadero, the Sea Cliff district, The Palace of the Legion of Honor, De Young Museum, the Twin Peaks, Mt Davidson, Lake Merced, Lands End, Chinatown, Japan Town, Alamo Square, Union Square and many more. Watch this website in the future and I will share you San Francisco.
I was a member of ASOPA (American Society of Portrait Artists) base in New York, Portrait art Society base in San Francisco & Museum Society & Street Artists of San Francisco.
My other interest in life is Dancing. I'm a professional dance instructor teaching Ballroom, Latin and Swing in San Francisco and the bay area.
