I credit Jock Lauterer for introducing me to the joy of photography. I remember his first assignment at Penn State University in which I turned in a b&w of two boys gripping a sled about to slide (intentionally) into a large hole. It's hard to believe that was 20 years ago. The photojournalism skills came in handy during my 10 years as a newspaper reporter. Today I am a homeschool mom in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In 2010 I acquired my first digital camera, a Canon EOS Rebel T2i. Jock, please forgive me.

LensRoto's conversations

I have to apologize LensRoto. After looking into the different species of snakes in Michigan. I can determine, for what I can see of them in this picture, that these snakes are either blue racers or copper-bellied water snakes. I can't see the undersides of the snakes, however I see no evidence of a dark yellow underbelly, so I have to believe they are blue racers.

Awesome. Marvelous composition.

Love the reflection. Great capture.

O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife. Who more than self their country loved And mercy more than life! America! America! May God thy gold refine Till all success be nobleness And every gain divine!

He looks like he is smiling! Wonderful.

I'm glad you like it, Peter. Thanks for the visit and comments.

Wow, you really know the time of the day to take photos. You have a lovely gallery of sunrises / sunsets. Beautiful colors and perspective. Thanks for sharing and I really hope that you map them so they get on Google Earth.

Wonderful. I love the color and the symmetry. Very nice capture.
