Possibly the wreck of the norwegian barque Exelsior, of Laurwig. Reg tonnage..462grt. Built in1869 and ran ashore 22Nov1881. Crew all saved....(from Pennan to St Fergus, by Stanley Bruce).

Hi JR,
I assume you were stationed in the support vessel when you took your photos of the Thistle. I came across them by accident when looking for the co-ordinates of the Thistle on the internet and then trying to plot the location on Google Earth where someone is/was stationed and saw the three photos. I subsequently tried to find the photos directly on Panaramio but without any luck. A pity as some are very good. Eventually used your user number and discovered more!

Built perhaps,mid 18th century,last occupant was Maggie Duthie who died age83,she was preceded by her mother,Elazabeth Duthie,born 18.28 and died 19.23 aged 95.Maggies Hoosie is at 26,Shore Street Inverallochy.
