I think the mound can be seen in Google Earth.

We made it. On to Senegal.

Note the "official" US Army uniform!

N8 is shown as a yellow road in Google Earth and is shown on many maps. Not much of a road and in places only negotiable by high clearance vehicles and mountain bikes!

I picked this photo for among other reasons is that the Google Maps aerial photos are high enough resolution to show the road in this region.

Strange formations. Told they were eroded termite mounds.
