After Auckland (NZ), Sydney (AUS), Malmö (S), Bangkok (THA), Freiburg (D) and Bali (IND) Singapore is the 7th country I have immigrated into since 1988. Each place has been interesting in its own way. Singapore has a lot of shiny, big buildings but what fascinates me more is the scale and quality of Singapore's public housing managed through the Housing Development Board. When I am not roaming the neighbourhoods, looking for peace and quiet on the void decks, concrete seating with innovative mosaic patterns or the Block with the most washing out, then I am producing architectural prototypes.

The first time I flew to NZ in 1985 I got to sit next to a person from Wellington on the flight from Frankfurt and, yes, she knew Helena, the only person I knew in Wellington at the time - only in New Zealand! - so, Dave, I do believe you. Could imagine that it would be quite nice to live there for a few months, but then it's probably better to move on ... Greetings from Singapore --- Horst
