I have finally started posting again, under a new profile. To see my photos of beautiful Alaska go to http://www.panoramio.com/user/241735. Now I am in northern California, and to my great surprise, there are areas of this region that are under-photographed! So I finally have my assignment, and my Alaska photos will remain for posterity - and for me to review when I feel homesick.

I was stationed on Adak in 1956 and 1957. Picture taking was limited but we had a photo lab in the Hobby Shop which I operated. I took photos after the earthquake but they were classified so I couldn't keep them. I wonder how much the island has changed since then?

Hi Emerson, yes, the mountain's name is Wrong Mountain. I have waited TWO YEARS for someone to ask about that. And yes, yes friends, there is a RIGHT Mountain - roughly over my left shoulder, on the camera's side of the lake, as I take this shot. I wish I knew the history myself; I never tried to find it.
