Common mergansers flying downstream towards lake at Johnson City, later winter 2005. Photo taken from top of cliff overlooking rocky landscape. Bald eagles were seen on occasion along this stretch of the Pedernales River, both juveniles and adults. One adult was observed attempting to rob an Osprey which did not relinquish its fish despite the long flight over our heads until they disappeared from sight.
