Thanks for the kind word!

I drove that schoolbus route during the 1961-62 school year. Great memories !!!

The last known private railway station. Built by T.W. Whiting for the convenience of his wife and visitors to the Sylvan Park Ranch, Morris County, Kansas in 1900. Now on loan to the city of Council Grove, Kansas.

So, let us hope that the USPS folks in D.C. don't decide to shut this one down!!

I'm hoping someone will double check me on the exact location of this picture. I think I have it right, but I didn't mark it with my GPS and I sure should have.

The Federal Government Built 138 of these houses for the Kaw Indians near Council Grove, KS in 1861. The Indians preferred their native shelters, so the houses were used mainly for animal shelter and storage. This example was reconstructed at the Kaw Mission Grounds in Council Grove.

Well, I don't know what it is about this barn, but this photo has drawn many times as many views as any of my other photos. It isn't even tagged with 'barn'. Strange!!

The light colored line of sediment across the bottom of the butte is about 5 feet thick. It was deposited in the fallout from a massive volcanic explosion at Yellowstone over 2 million years ago and 1000 miles Northwest of here.

Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures of Oklahoma scenery. We certainly enjoyed looking through your album.

I envy you, Ramblin' Man! I grew up in Tahlequah, but spent a LOT of time on Baron Fork. I also drove schoolbus on a route along the East side of Baron Fork. Always wished I could live out there.
