Sagamore Bridge, entrance to Cape Cod, was designed by Architect Ralph Adams Cram. In 1938 was awarded "The Most Beautiful Bridge"...featuring neo-classical pylons with echoes of Gothic arches.
Built during the Great Depression w/WPA money: the 1930s equivalent of federal stimulus. More than 700 people were employed to build the bridge.
