One of my hobbies, like many people, is photography. I concentrate on landscapes and other environmentsal subjects. I have also included some other photos here which satisfy the aim of showing what else is there to see of interest in the same place as the landscape photos.
Most of my pictures relate to Scotland particularly the Highlands, Wales and the National Arboretum at Westonbirt in Gloucestershire. There is too a section on the Eden Project at Bodelva in Cornwall and there are a few stray photographs from other parts of the world.
I have also uploaded a selection of photos of one of the most important working Industrial Heritage sites of global importance still in existence fulfilling its original purpose... namely Crofton Beam Engines at Crofton which is near Marlborough in England.
My latest offerings are some photographs of the restored Victorian pier at Clevedon as well as some snow bound landscapes taken in the surrounding area.
I am slowly working through the task of identifying, locating and tagging the collection and there are a few inconsistencies beginning to appear in some of the labels and locations associated with individual photos. If you find one of my pictures bearing duff info, don't worry, it's a recognised problem on the site. Things are getting better but not completely, just yet. I change errors as I find them or people kindly draw attention to them.

No you are not seeing things... The camera was where it is shown on the map... the sea wasn't... the tide was out as we drove over the sands and took this and other photos

Hi John, I want to thank you for all the fantastic pictures that you have contributed to the group Steam power during the Industrial Revolution..
You have a very interesting, and inspiring Gallery, it will take me some time to view.
At this point in time we are on vacation in California, and I have yet to see a steam engine, V8 gas guzzles are in abundance....㋡ ㋡ ㋡.
Best wishes to you Ray.

A warm welcome J R Forbes. Thank you for agreeing to join the West Highland Way group. You have been invited because at least one of your photographs fits the criteria for this group. Please feel free to add other photos from your collection so long as they also meet the criteria of being on the West Highland Way.
I'd also encourage all members of the group to watch out for other photographers within Panoramio who have shots that may qualify and feel free to invite them to join as well.
I hope that together we can create a virtual West Highland Way to be enjoyed by everone who has not had the chance to walk the way, or to stir memories of those who have completed it all, or just a part.
Best wishes to you. Paul
