Linda fotografia, parabéns pelo trabalho. Lenin, foi bom para o povo russo ? Saudações cordiais do Brasil

Between Calgary and Medicine Hat, the CPR, while it was being compelled by the Laurier Liberals to extinguish its construction contract land claims, agreed to take land in the Palliser Triangle (arid/dry-land agricultural land) as long as it could have contiguous parcels rather than the common checkerboard of the homestead era. The Liberals agreed and the CPR began work to develop the Western, Central, and Eastern sections of its irrigation district. Of these, the Eastern Irrigation section (later to become the Eastern Irrigation District) was probably the most successful save for one matter. The easternmost portion of the Eastern section was isolated from the water and distributed from the reservoir created behind the Bassano Dam (1910) by a shallow valley, 20 metres at its deepest. The solution was the construction of the 3 kilometer concrete aqueduct, which, while always an operational nightmare, fed water to the canals and ditches of the eastern section, opening many thousands of acres to successful agriculture. It was decommissioned and replace in 1979 by the more efficient earthen canal that now runs along side it.

Bogdan, sorry for that delay - but your visit is welcome too...
