Moon Mine / Gough's Battery
Discovery of the rich deposits of detrital tin along Hope Creek is generally attributed to a party including Christopher Isles, Charles McGough and A. Wagenknecht, itinerant miners from the depressed Mathinna goldfield who, in 1875, fossicked their way onto Blue Tier in search of the source of tin recently discovered along the tributaries of the George River. [Blue Tier Heritage Study - An Archealogical survey of the Blue Tier tin-field. Vol 2., Greg Jackman 1998.]

Hi, Yes I know it has decayed. I made a Bluray dvd of the Blue Tier in 2008, including the Gough Battery and surrounding features. I've been going there since the 1970's initially with Peter Burns and students from Scottsdale High School photographic club so I have some photos that show nearly 40 years of changes.
