This viewpoint is known as Skyline.Skyline Restaurant and souvenir gift shop is accessed by gondola from the township of Queenstown below. It is a starting point for some good hiking trails, the closest and most popular being Ben Lomond Peak set further back into the mountains.
It is also an excellent location for taking air by parapente, a manoeuvreable parachute wing inflated by running into the wind and off steep terrain, to land in grass fields at Queenstown Primary School some 3,ooo feet below.
