Soooo atmospheric - well spotted JB.
In my local newspaper yesterday there was a report that these buildings are to be pulled down. What a waste! I've put a scanned pic on here of the newspaper picture.
I photographed these shops about two years ago and put them on Google Earth. Such a shame that they are now going to be pulled down instead of being 'mended' and brought back into use. Says a lot doesn't it?
I see you are right. There were three Amish kids there but only two made the picture. They each had hammers and were learning a skill.
Miscreants keep setting fire to it now (Aug 2014). I wish it could be developed into apartments so that it isn't an eyesore anymore or a magnet for arsonists.
A nice record shot. I remember it well.
Favorite #1+like. Beautiful picture thanks.
Thanks for the info Cornershopman, but I have two questions - why aren't all dry stone walls made this way and is it only posh land owners who can afford to have them made this way?
