Guy Erwood's conversations
Guy: I have very much enjoyed your pictures of the Long Sutton area. My mother was born there (1899) and lived at 1 Lime Walk, and my uncle Alf Bates had a farm further down that road. My mother married my dad (who was from London), at the Lutton Church. Other Uncle had a general store at Dawsmere. Your photos have brought back many good memories to share. May you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Donald.

Silica was the name given to this light tower in an area known as big lamp corner. Not quite sure if its art or not but when first built there was a red band with flashing lights constantly going round but that was removed when it failed. The lights that we were told would be seen from Wales are rather dim due to the incompatible console used to create light. My teacher would have said "coul;d do better"
