Bully Beef was what the Commonwealth Nations had instead of Spam during WWII. Canada and Australia both had a plentiful supply of beef which was then turned into canned Corned Beef. It took a little work on my part to figure out exactly what it was. Commonwealth troops complained about Bully Beef in much the same way as American troops complained about Spam. American troops who were stationed for any length of time in England also complained about Bully Beef and said that one of the benefits of going to the front was escaping the daily diet of Bully Beef that was served up in the U.K. I wonder who canned the Bully Beef and what happened to it after the war? If you really want to go old school on canned food products that were made for war time, grab yourself a can of Van Camp's Pork and Beans. It's the same recipe since the American Civil War.
