When I was 17, I wanted to study photography. The Master of the photography guild in Hamburg, Germany took me into his business for one week to test my aptitude and in his evaluation he wrote, 'no talent for this business'. I got through life without photography, but now dedicate most of my free time for photography, doing very little else.

Very nice night photo.Like

Your photo is much redder than mine and has more contrast between dark and light. Besides using a slower shutter speed, I was much further away from the flower. Interesting subject.

Since we moved away from Lexington we don't see many freighters anymore, I miss that, being a 'Hamburger Maedchen'. Can't have everything, as we say.

Yes, this past four-months long beating of snow and ice was just too much for the trees and grasses.

This part of the shore is full of such pieces. I used to take our grandchildren 'treasure hunting' and even as teenagers, they enjoyed those times.

Possibly imported from Ontario only 20000 years ago. ;-)

This is new to me. We have some red and black lubber grasshoppers here (which are quite large), but not these dragon lubbers.

Thank you very much, kazkun. I am honored. Best regards from Mississippi. Ron.
