This is a llitle town with rich recent history, I was about 9 years old when the textile factory closed down due to the workers strike and murder of a major supervisor.
After 20 years I was very happy to see that the new generation has made the textile industry florish in Atuntaqui where you can go and try the best "Fritada" you will ever have.
I recommend a half a day there going to Otavalo or San Pablo Lake.
