Si, quella fu un'eruzione spettacolare e molto "turistica". Cominciò a inizio autunno, nel periodo migliore per salire sull'Etna, fu in una zona della Valle del Bove facilmente accessibile, e fu caratterizzata solo da attività effusiva. Purtroppo la scansione non rende come l'originale (i bei tempi delle reflex con la pellicola...)

Thanks for the compliments - was very lucky to be there on a rare fog free day! Was on a tourist vessel (Akademik Shokalskiy) run by Rodney Russ of Heritage Expeditions; landed on 5 islands/island groups in the Southern Indian Ocean with this trip and had a sail past of McDonald Island. Have spent two summers on Heard Island though in my capacity as a scientist with the Australian Government.
